The Weather Widget – Full Guide

This guide is created my Manid Nimord on iPodTouchFans. I take no credit for it.

The guide:

“The weather widget for the ipod touch/iphone. Many people have been asking how to use it and such, so here is the guide.

What you will need:

-The Weather widget theme files(NOTE: If you want it in the status bar, dont download this version). Found Here. Credit to Zetetic Apparatchik Over at mac themes who created this great widget. The Thread is Here.
-An SSH app/client
-Winterboard.

This guide will show you how to change the looks of your weather widget, on your springboard.

Step 1: Basics

Part 1:

You will have to install the widget to winterboard. So you open up your SSH client and navigate to “/Library/Themes” drop the “weatherwidget.theme” folder to that location.

Part 2:

Now, You will need to change your location. To do this, you have to open up the “configureMe.js” file. Which is found in “/Library/Themes/WeatherWidget.theme/Private”

Double click to open it.

Now, there will be lots of text which tells you what to do, but that can be confusing.

So find the text that says: var locale = “(instert your living area here)” //e.g. ‘Defiance, Ohio’|’Moscow, Russia’|’Ledyard, AT’|’London, UK’

So if you live in London, you will type London, UK. Get what i mean? If not post away.

Step 2: Which weather widget do i want?

Number 5, OneLine is the default one which is set when you download the files from the “What will i need bit”. If you want the One Line widget, then all you need to do is the whole of Step 1. And respring.

Part 1:

For all widget types, find the line that says: “var stylesheetWall = ‘oneLine’ //’originalBubble’|’myopia’|’iconOnly’|’split’|’oneL ine’|”

Part 2:

To get Number 1:

Do Part 1. Change where is says “var stylesheetWall = ‘oneLine'” to “var stylesheetWall = ‘iconOnly'”

To get Number 2:

Do Part 1. Change where is says “var stylesheetWall = ‘oneLine'” to “var stylesheetWall = ‘myopia'”

To get Number 3:

Do Part 1. Change where is says “var stylesheetWall = ‘oneLine'” to “var stylesheetWall = ‘originalBubble'”

To get Number 4:

Do Part 1. Change where is says “var stylesheetWall = ‘oneLine'” to “var stylesheetWall = ‘split'”

Simple right? Yep.

I have changed the guide around. The status bar widget has been moved to another guide in the making. Will be up soon.”

Also, If you want this weather widget:

(the five day one just above the dock)

You can download it HERE. Just put that in /Library/Themes, then apply it from WinterBoard. Courtosy of Gitykins on iPodTouchFans.
