Podcasts, Podcasts, Podcasts! – Part 1

https://i2.wp.com/www.fam.tuwien.ac.at/public/press/20061011_files/podcast.pngHave you heard of podcasts? Well you probably have, seeing as your reading a technology blog… But for that 0.001% of our readers who havn’t, they’re basically internet radio shows that you can subscribe to. Once subscribed, you can have them downloaded and put onto your mp3 player automatically daily, weekly or whenever they are published.

Just one note – you do not need an iPod to enjoy podcasts! Just cause Apple have the whole “insert vowel here”Pod thing going on, they are not the only way to listen.

Anyway, so now if you didnt know about podcasts you know a bit, and if you already did your probably bored. But don’t dispair, this post may still have something for you in it! Being an avid geek myself, I listen to quite a few (predominantly tech-related) podcasts. First and foremost, Leo Laporte’s TWiT Netcast Network was probably the first podcasting company. From their flagship show This Week In Tech, to MacBreak or Windows weekly, theres definitly something for everyone on here. Theres even something for the less tech-literate! The Tech Guy podcast is a radio broadcast which has a much more mainstream appeal, but still has some geeky-elements to it.

So theres a little something to whet your appetite, more parts coming very soon! And please feel free to recommend any podcasts in the comments! If you know of any hidden gems, let us all check them out : )
